Palmer Long Term Ecological Research, Antarctica, 2011-2012

In October 2011 I headed to Palmer Station, Antarctica to join the LTER crew and research the impacts of climate change on a fragile and less-and-less frigid ecosystem. There were scientists examining the complex food web from all angles, from whales to penguins to krill to phytoplankton to bacteria. We had a blast. I shot a lot of videos but not so many pictures, so the photos here were mostly stolen from Zena Cardman, Kaycee Coleman, and Nicole Couto.
